A growing international shipping and logistics organization headquartered in California
with operations throughout the United States and a global network of customers and partners, the company specializes in supporting international trade and transportation needs, is seeking a HR Director.

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Human Resources Director to lead all HR functions while serving as a trusted business partner to executive leadership. This role will be based in our HQ and will play a critical role in supporting company growth, talent acquisition, compliance, employee engagement, and organizational development.

Position Summary
The Human Resources Director will oversee all aspects of Human Resources, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, training and development, HR policies and procedures, and strategic workforce planning. This individual must be comfortable operating both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced international shipping environment.

A significant focus of this role will be leading recruitment efforts, particularly for sales professionals and key operational positions across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all HR operations for a multi-location organization.
* Develop and execute HR strategies that align with company goals and growth initiatives.
* Drive full-cycle recruitment efforts, with a strong emphasis on attracting and hiring top sales talent.
* Partner with leadership to develop workforce planning and talent management strategies.
* Ensure compliance with California employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and federal employment requirements.
* Provide guidance and support regarding employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
* Create, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Oversee onboarding, orientation, employee development, and retention programs.
* Manage employee training initiatives and leadership development programs.
* Administer employee benefits programs and serve as liaison with benefit providers.
* Oversee payroll processes in partnership with internal stakeholders utilizing ADP.
* Monitor and improve employee engagement, morale, and company culture.
* Support organizational change initiatives and business expansion efforts.
* Maintain HR metrics and reporting to support executive decision-making.
* Collaborate with operational leaders regarding workforce planning and staffing

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
* 8+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
* Experience serving as an HR Director, Senior HR Manager, or equivalent leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
* Experience supporting multi-site operations.
* Experience supporting international shipping, freight forwarding, import/export, global logistics, or transportation organizations strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated success recruiting sales professionals and other difficult-to-fill positions.
* Experience developing HR policies, SOPs, and organizational procedures.
* Strong background in employee relations, investigations, coaching, and conflict resolution.
* Experience managing benefits administration and payroll processes.
* Hands-on experience with ADP payroll and HRIS platforms preferred.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR responsibilities.
